Advise for going raw vegan?

Im 16 5-7 157 ppunds and im trying my best to go raw vegan for my health. I have some questions and looking for advise.! If could take a look and help me out?VVV

I just bought Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor.

I work out a lot and i love chicken! Is it really that bad for you? Im aiming for at least 70% raw so could chicken slide?

if not were do i get my protein from?

What veggies are good for protein?

is there like a raw vegan protein powder?

How often daily should i juice?

I eat a spoon full on raw honey a day, I drink coconut water in the morning every day, and take sperlina.

whats a good websight for starting out raw vegan?

what do I eat just like salads and the juice?

Alot of questions i know!


- You cannot be vegan and eat chicken. You can be 70% raw and eat chicken, however. Chicken is not 'that bad" for you (it is also arguable whether it is "that good" either). Most vegans do not eat meat because they don't want to kill animals. If that doesn't bother you, you'll have to decide for yourself whether you want to eat chicken. I personally recommend hormone-free, organic chicken. Hormones are certainly not good for you...

- There are many vegetables high in protein. Asparagus, broccoli, mushroom, beetroot, spinach, cauliflower, lettuce, and much more! Quinoa (which is a grain... can be used like a cereal or in a salad or other food) is a complete protein! Quinoa can also be sprouted and eaten as a raw food, so you won't have to compromise with cooking it (although it can be cooked for a softer version).

- I don't know about a vegan protein powder, but as long as you eat a well-balanced diet (not all fruits, etc), you shouldn't have to worry about protein. The average person eats way more protein than necessary.

- Be careful with juicing too much. Eating raw juice is VERY concentrated. You can easily overdose in the sugar! Whenever possible, it is better to eat the fruit itself because your body will be better able to tell you when to stop. With juicing, you could easily drink 10 apples or 30 carrots or worse... it won't feel good or be healthy, and in the long term can really hurt you. If you want to juice, that's ok.... just be careful with over doing it.

You didn't mention books, but I definitely recommend checking out books. I personally checked out every book on raw foods at my library as well as "cook" books and such. Here's a few I liked:

The Sunfood Diet Success System by David Wolfe (this is an informative book on why sun [raw] foods are good for you)

The Raw 50 by Carol Alt (50 simple raw food recipes).

You can also look through other books on the second website I gave you.

- While you are welcome to eat salads, that's not all you have to eat... and I don't recommend eating just that as that's not the most balanced. Simple foods to eat are of course, fruits, vegetables, and I highly recommend nuts (nuts, seeds, avocados and coconuts are some of the few fats you get on a raw diet, which is important).

But check out the raw "cook" books. You'll be surprised by all you can make. I have a dehydrator and can make things like crackers and breads... but even without that, there's a lot you can make. Don't make yourself go crazy by limiting yourself to just a few foods...
