    i heard……..When a new queen bee emerges in a hive, she pipes (repeatedly sings a G# or A note) to incite her worker bees to fight for her if another queen in the hive needs killing.

    Probably more like she’s female and demanding attention. ;)

    Bees are amazing. I pet bumblebees for fun. They’re not aggressive at all. I wouldn’t do that with honeybees as they seem more temperamental.

    That’s just…extraordinary! They make a noise like that on purpose! To challenge other queens or communicate with the hive no less!
